Course Summary

This course is designed to help students gain a qualification to prove that they are occupationally competent in Customer Service.  

At the same time they will gain full understanding of the reasons why excellent Customer Service is vital to all organisations.

Students will work closely with an assessor who will guide and assist them in building a portfolio of evidence from their work place.

This is a part time course that is tailored to meet all customer service areas from postal duties to year end procedures.

What will I learn?

All levels of the course will cover the same 2 Mandatory Units which are: 

  • Communicate Using Customer Service Language and
  • Follow the Rules to Deliver Customer Service

(Please note: each unit has a set of knowledge outcomes to be answered by the student.  Each level of the course has additional and more complex questions).

Students then choose appropriate Optional Units that best fit their job role.  The Optional Units are divided into 4 themes which are:

  • Impression and Image
  • Delivery
  • Handling Problems
  • Development and Improvement
     

Some of the more popular Optional Units are:

  • Giving Customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation
  • Deliver reliable Customer Service 
  • Recognise and deal with customer queries, requests and problems
  • Develop customer relationships

The easiest option is to choose units that coincide with the work that students currently do in their normal working week.  

What are the entry requirements?

You need to be working in a customer service environment

You will be invited for an interview

You will be required to have the appropriate level of essential skills

You will need to complete a skill scan on your current work role

How much will it cost?

For learners aged 19+ the cost of this course is £800.

How long is the course?

This is a 1 year course comprising of a maximum of 10 monthly visits to your workplace. Each visit usually last approximately 1 hour and will take place in your work area. 

This is a flexible course that does not require attendance to college and is assessed in the workplace. You, your assessor and manager will agree the frequency of each visit.
