Course Summary

This half day course in Diabetes awareness which is designed to assist the individual develop an understanding in diabetes. With almost 2 million diabetics in the UK and another million undiagnosed this is something that affects a large number of people, either as diabetics or carers.

What will I learn?

Course content:

The course starts with an exercise to help clear up some misconceptions about diabetes
Understanding what diabetes is and the effects it has on a diabetic
Symptoms of diabetes and how to recognise them
Causes of diabetes
Who is at risk from developing diabetes
Treatment for diabetes
Hypoglycaemia
Hyperglycaemia
Ketoacidosis
Neuropathy and how to look for the signs of it
Diabetes care
Diet

The course is completed with a 20 question multiple choice exam paper.
