Course Summary
The level 3 course is available as a one-year course starting in September and ending the following June. It is also available as a fast-track course running from January to early August. Attendance on both courses is one evening per week, from 6pm to 9pm.
• The away days provide a unique learning and personal development experience
• The course is delivered by practising counsellors committed to delivering a current programme in a creative and safe environment.
• It is designed to provide an insight into professional issues, Person Centred Therapy and other counselling orientations. You will also develop your skills for use in a supportive role.

• You will need to hold a level 2 Concepts certificate or its equivalent

On successful completion of the course you will be awarded a nationally recognised qualification which allows learners direct progression to further study and training.
Where can I go next?
Academic progression
On successful completion of the course and successful selection through an interview process, you can progress on to the Level 4 Counselling Diploma.
Career prospects
The learning and skills gained on the course will enhance your employment prospects by demonstrating commitment to effective communication and to personal and professional development. The guided learning hours will count towards any future application for accredited professional membership with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. While this qualification does not allow students to practice as qualified counsellors, it is seen by employers as evidence of transferrable skills and thus enhances employment prospects.
