Course content:

Relevant legislation in relation to moving and handling
The anatomy and physiology of the spine and efficient body movement
What is meant by: Ergonomics and Biomechanics
The accumulative effects of bad practice
The importance of risk assessments within the workplace
The practical use of handling aids
Unsafe practices are and discuss the potential dangers incorrect moving and handling.

What are the entry requirements?

This course is for those healthcare workers who need to refresh their moving and handling knowledge and skill.

12 delegates per course. Candidates should wear loose comfortable clothing and should be physically fit and healthy as practical techniques will be demonstrated.

Half day course, either 9:30am - 12:30pm or 1:30pm - 4:30pm. Flexible dates.
