NVQ Level 4 in Advice and Guidance

What will I learn?
You will be required to attend 6 hour x 7 monthly best practice and portfolio building workshops, where you will cover the knowledge and understanding requirements for the 4 mandatory and 4 optional units to achieve a full L4 NVQ in Advice and Guidance and gain support in compiling your portfolio of evidence. You will also have regular tutorials with your fully qualified and experienced assessor at the workshops to review your progress, set targets and discuss your learning.
Ongoing email and telephone support will also be provided throughout the programme
An option of ‘e-portfolio’ and distance learning is available.
There are no exams
What are the entry requirements?
This course is for you if you are a fully developed and experienced IAG practitioner who might also have some managerial or training responsibilities. You could also be a creator of information, advice and guidance, either disseminating information as a practitioner or through your organisation in the form of publications. You will have a more dynamic relationship with other organisations, with active membership of at least one FORMAL external network and be managing a personal caseload.
You will need to be in a position to demonstrate competence in interviewing and other guidance related skills.
Competence is established through assessments in the work place and a portfolio of evidence, which will include case studies, answers to written questions, witness testimonies, reports and work products.
