The Microsoft Office Specialist program is the only comprehensive program approved by Microsoft to validate desktop computer skills using Microsoft Office programs.
Microsoft Office Specialist tests are practical tests of competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications. Successful candidates receive an Office Specialist certificate that is a valuable credential recognized worldwide as proof that an individual has the desktop computing skills needed to work more productively and efficiently in their job.
This course is designed to help students gain the higher level skills and qualification required for the majority of Senior Business, Office and Administration occupations.

What will I learn?
- Microsoft Word - Word Processing including inserting and modifying text, creating and modifying paragraphs, formatting documents, managing documents, working with graphics and workgroup collaboration
- Microsoft Outlook – E-mail including creating and viewing messages, scheduling, managing messages, creating and managing contacts, creating and managing tasks and notes
- Microsoft PowerPoint - Presentation Graphics, creating master layouts and style applying templates, background and style. Insertion of graphics charts, data and use of colour, layout and style
- Microsoft Excel - Spreadsheet production including use of functions, relative and absolute addressing, named references and references to other worksheets as well as formatting alignment and text orientation. Margins, headers& footers are used as well as borders and layouts to produce spreadsheet reports
- Microsoft Access - Database manipulation including creating and using databases, create access databases, creating and modifying tables, creating and modifying queries, creating and modifying forms, viewing and organizing information, defining relationships, producing reports and integrating with other applications
What are the entry requirements?
Applicants are invited for an interview and no formal qualifications are necessary for acceptanceWhat will you achieve?
Assessment is through online testing for each unit. Successful achievement of 4 units, including Word and Excel to Advanced level, qualifies the candidate for Microsoft Application Specialist status

Successful candidates may want to progress to more technical courses, such as Web Design

How long is the course?
