Course Summary
The ITQ is a modular, credit based certification system that enables candidates to gain qualifications at 3 different levels depending upon their abilities and study patterns.
Candidates build up credits by studying/completing units within the qualification framework.

This course is suitable for people who are currently using IT skills in their day to day work, and wish to gain formal accreditation and recognition of their level of skill
What will I learn?
The course is made up of one mandatory unit plus optional units from the following list
Mandatory unit
- Improving Productivity: [not award] this unit is about the way that you use IT and how it can be used to improve your productivity and efficiency.
Optional units include:
- Presentation Graphics, for presentation software skills using MS PowerPoint TO set up a slide layout/template, format text style, enter and edit data, manage and print presentation files
- Word processing including data entry, text editing, document layout, cut and paste, printing and presentation.
- Spreadsheet production including use of formula, data entry and editing, layout, copying and printing.
- Database manipulation including field set-up data entry, simple queries and report production.
- Email including transmitting and receiving e-mail messages and attachments
- Internet Usage navigate the World Wide Web, use search techniques to locate data on the Web, manage and print electronic documents
What are the entry requirements?
Applicants are invited for an interview and no qualifications are necessary for acceptance, although any former experience is taken into account.
What will you achieve?
Assessment is through:
- Portfolio building, you will produce evidence by using the applications applicable for each unit.
- It is also possible to undertake assessments to produce the evidence.
Where can I go next?
Successful candidates can progress to a level 2 ITQ
What facilities do we have?
Most of the work for an ITQ is carried out at your place of employment, where you will be visited regularly by a skilled assessor
