Course Summary

This NVQ is the support services in health care level two and would suit a whole range of health care workers such as porters, laundry staff, kitchen staff, and canteen staff, drivers, admin staff, security staff and cleaners.
The NVQ has 8 units. 4 are mandatory. Unit ss1, foster peoples equality and rights, Unit ss2 contribute to the effectiveness of work teams, Unit ss3 promote and monitor and maintain health safety and security in the workplace and Unit ss4 give customers a positive impression of your self and your organisation. The course usually takes around 18 to 20 weeks to complete, with the assessor making in most cases a weekly or two weekly visit to the site.

What are the entry requirements?

No previous qualifications are needed and it would suit all ancillary staff regardless of age and length of service. it has eight projects with a small amount of written work and at least two observations of the candidates carrying out their work.
