Apprenticeships In Childcare - How it worked for me!
16 November 2010My name is Nicola Sergeant, I have worked as a Childcare Trainer / Assessor at The Oldham College for the past 2 years and I am a qualified level 4 Nursery worker.
I did all of my training with the college through a Childcare Apprenticeship programme. I really enjoyed the Apprenticeship as I was working in a nursery with the children 4 days a week, and coming to college 1 day a week to study. This way of learning really worked for me because I was learning ‘hands on’ in a real work environment doing what I loved. Now I have progressed into assessing, I am thoroughly enjoying my job with the College.
