Eric Wright Partnership Work - even in the snow!!07 December 2010
The Eric Wright Group is an established leader within the building industry, offering a wide range of services from construction and civil engineering, to property development and facilities management.
For the third year running, Dan Gosling, a Managing Surveyor from the company has made the commitment to part of the Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment learning experience.
Dan delivers a very informative presentation to the diploma group, demonstrating the realities of a career within the construction industry. The session offers a crucial link to industry for the learners, who are all also expected to carry out work experience in industry and attend regular visits to a range of sites.
Dan made the tough journey in through the snow with his junior colleague Jonathan, who is working with the company while on a gap year from university. Jonathan also provided his own unique insight to the students.
Course tutor Keith Martin, pictured below with the students, Dan and Jonathan, works hard to ensure his learners have access to these excellent opportunities. Keith, who was a construction site manager himself until three years ago, believes the students gain an enormous amount from site visits and guest presentations. Keith commented; the diploma is designed to prepare the students for a professional career within the construction industry.
Support from the Eric Wright Group and other organisations is invaluable in developing the students. It provides a real insight into the expectations and benefits of working in construction.
The learners thoroughly enjoyed the session and found it invaluable to their understanding of this discipline. All are very grateful to the guys from Eric Wrights.
