The Oldham College

The Oldham College have built up an excellent reputation for high quality in the areas of Arts and Media, working with numerous companies within the region. The Oldham College and a consortium of four other colleges were delighted to earn the accolade of Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for Media. CoVE status is granted by the Learning and Skills Council to providers who have demonstrated high levels of expertise in delivering specific types of training.

How can the Arts and Media department help your business?

Due to excellent facilities, the courses the Media department are able to provide for the TV, Broadcast, Radio, Journalism and Creative industries take place in realistic working environments, enabling employees to gain crucial skills for working in this sector.

The department run a series of successful one 1 Day Master Classes and short courses ranging from 6 to 30 hours which are open to all business sectors. These courses allow businesses to gain the knowledge to create or commission effective marketing material for promotion of their products and services. Companies have used these courses in the past to help design and print logos, brochures, leaflets, flyers, brochures, price lists and business starter packs. The department can also help with the bespoke development of business presentations with movement, sound, colour and impact if required. They can also help with the creation of CD-Rom's, DVD's, Videos and web site creation and development.

These courses can be held on your premises or at one of the five colleges in the Media CoVE, in Greater Manchester. Bespoke training can also be tailored to your specific needs and we are keen to work with employers to develop new programmes to ensure employees already in post and candidates for job vacancies have the correct skills.

Theatre

A 340 seat theatre is also available for hire by outside companies for training, conferences or for theatrical shows.
