What is the Media CoVE?

The Media CoVE is a Centre of Vocational Excellence partnership across Greater Manchester between five participating colleges:

• The Oldham College
• City College
• MANCAT
• Salford College
• Stockport College

CoVE status is granted by the Learning and Skills Council to providers who have demonstrated high levels of expertise in delivering specific types of training. The Media CoVE provides a series of realistic working environments including state of the art technology and facilities which can be utilised by employers and employees to match the needs of the businesses in the industry sectors of TV, Broadcast, Radio, Journalism and Creative developing short courses such as:

• Media
• Digital Media
• Design and Print
• Post Production and Production
• Digital Games
• Presentation development
• Video
• CD-Rom and DVD creation
• Photography
• Digital Photography
• Media Make-up
• Web site development

These courses are available to generic businesses to enable them to gain the knowledge to create or commission effective marketing material for promotion of their business, product and services or for dissemination of information and training purposes, such as design and print in the form of logo's, brochures, leaflets, flyers, brochures, price lists, business starter packs, bespoke development of business presentations with movement, sound, colour and impact if required, together with the creation of CD-Rom's, DVD's, Videos and web sites creation and development.

What can the CoVE do for you?

The Media CoVE has developed a range of 1 Day Master Classes and short courses ranging from 6 to 30 hours for the employer market and courses can be tailored to match the needs of the business. These courses can be held on your premises or at one of the five colleges in the Media CoVE, in Greater Manchester. Bespoke training can also be tailored to your specific needs and we are keen to work with employers to develop new programmes to ensure employees already in post and candidates for job vacancies have the correct skills.
