"I would absolutely recommend the Oldham College to other councils. We were able to pick two good recruits, the testing at the beginning of the process really helped to identify applicants with the right aptitude for learning.

The Oldham College were very professional and having a solid structure to the training has ensured that the scheme has worked well. Doing the training on block release means the apprentices are getting tonnes of experience and the training is consolidated in one chunk.
From a company point of view it means you can manage people as the training is planned far in the advance. You can also plan what work the apprentices can become involved in on site.

We found that having one point of contact was very helpful not just for apprenticeship scheme but work based training as well. When we started out on the work based training we did have some issues but Jaya was able to help us sort these out.

Really the biggest impact has been giving the management belief in the apprenticeship scheme itself. Past experiences of training providers have not been altogether successful. The Oldham College has given managers confidence that apprenticeships do work and that there is good training out there
